History and mission
Our academy is firmly grounded Mr Johnnie Chan’s (VIth Dan) teaching for over ten years in Huddersfield. Now guided by Grandmaster Wayne Brown (IXth Dan) our mission is to teach authentic Taekwon-Do, empower students and build a strong, supportive and family friendly martial arts community. We bring national and international competition experience, but above all, we want you to have fun while getting fitter and developing new skills.
Introducing the instructors
Senior instructor Dr Eddie Dobson (IV Dan)
4th Dan International Instructor & Examiner – Sabum
Dr Dobson started Taekwon-Do with the TAGB as a child under the instruction of Mr Leslie Wright (now) VIII Dan, and stopped in the 90s when it became impossible to find a school at university. Restarting in 2007 as a white belt with Mr Johnnie Chan (now VI Dan), Dr Dobson has trained for over 25 years competed nationally and as a veteran on the England ITF team winning gold medals in patterns and also as a member of the ladies veteran team. Dr Dobson has also trained in Ireland, Barbados and Germany.
Mr Jordan Jackson (I Dan)

With 13 years of Taekwon-Doi experience Jordan has competed in numerous domestic and national competitions, earning 7 gold medals. He founded the Huddersfield University Taekwon-Do Club, which thrived for 10 years and proudly won the 2018 Club Cup. He is passionate about using martial arts to build confidence, resilience, and discipline in students of all levels.

Philosophy and values
Taekwon-Do is for everyone. General Choi Hong Hi developed it in a way that maximises your physical mass, strength and speed, such that even children can improve their chances against an unprepared attacker. We value inclusion welcoming students of any age (above 5), gender, culture, and disability. We are here to share our knowledge and help you to enjoy Taekwon-Do
