Master Knighton Seminar

On July 13th, Master Paul Knighton VII Degree delivered a black belt seminar, colour belt seminar and colour belt grading for schools across the North West and East areas. With The University TaeKwon Do Society and Jay Jackson’s help, we welcomed visitors from The Wirral, Derby, Teeside, Morley and Bury to Royd’s Hall Sports Centre and the lovely new Student Central facility. Special thanks to all instructors, and especially to TeamHud who helped the event to run smoothly.

What many of the students might not know is that the instructors are always working hard to improve their own TaeKwon Do. All black belts participated in a seminar before moving on to the university.

After practicing patterns we covered step sparring and some instruction on conditioning.

There was a great atmosphere on campus in the afternoon too, but then down to the formal business of examination.

The occasional table-tennis and corridor tul practice also made it a memorable day for me, but I particularly enjoyed watching the different schools come together again.

Special thanks to Master Knighton (VII) who worked so brilliantly with the youngsters, reminding us all of technique but also essential TaeKwon-Do etiquette. We hope that all of the students remember the instruction that they received, and work hard on improving their technique while enjoying TaeKwon Do. Information on the next seminar and grading will be posted soon.

TaeKwon!
